OUR STORY

Founded in 1996, MVS is a non-profit, secular, and non-political organization that began its journey in the remote and hilly region of Kotdhar, surrounded by the Gobind Sagar Lake in the Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. We strive to bridge the gap between community needs and biodiversity conservation by collaborating with stakeholders across all thematic areas. Our goal is to ensure livelihood and income security for vulnerable communities by enhancing water and food availability and mitigating the risks of climate change.

MVS's base of operations is in Kalol village, located 20km from Jhandutta and 52km from Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. We are actively working in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. As of December 2022, in partnership with 15 other organizations, we have impacted over 0.5 million people and have worked in 950 villages.
